Lake Havasu and the London Bridge
We've been hanging out in national parks that are above 5-6000' for several weeks and today was a shocker! Our last campground outside Sequoia got hot during the day but we were mostly in the parks hiking in the wonderful 75 degrees and shade up there! Today we hit Lake Havasu in far western Arizona to camp at the state park there and let me just say, "HOW THE HECK DOES ANYONE LIVE HERE! MY GOD I'M MELTING!" It was 106 in the shade when we arrived at our campsite and our two A/Cs worked for 4 hours just to get the interior down to 88 where it stubbornly stuck until after sundown when it came down a couple more degrees! YIKES!
It is a beautiful lake and the London Bridge is pretty cool to see but I highly suggest you DON'T come here in the summer months! Next time, we go through the mountains somewhere to get back to Texas! These people in Arizona are crazy!
