Our First Quirky Stops
As you may know we enjoy getting off the interstates to take the highways and byways of America through her small towns to see the quirky roadside attractions that have developed there to promote tourism. This trip was no exception, after a fairly routine drive to Lubbock for the first night, we headed out and hit a couple of quirky stops to make the drive more enjoyable as we work our way towards Utah's Big 5 National Parks.
The first was the National Mule Memorial in Muleshoe, TX, on Hwy 84 northwest of Lubbock. There's a statue of a mule in memory of their contributions to the wild west especially with respect to mining. They are tough and nimble and can handle situations that would be difficult for the larger footed horse.

The second quirky stop was the Big Lebowski Mural in Clovis, NM. A must stop for the Big Lebowski fans out there!
